Former NCRP assistant director Beth Daley passed away Sunday, August 22 following a seven-year battle with cancer. Beth is survived by her husband Steve Holmer, daughters Ginger and Traci, mother and father Steve and Georganna Daley, sister and brother-in-law Gwen Daley and Brett Best, mother-in-law Terry Holmer, and sisters-in-law Chris Cofield and Kathy Holmer, and a loving extended family and friends.

Beth came to NCRP as a college graduate in the fall of 1988, and over the next seven years served at various times as NCRP’s development director, assistant director and acting director. Following her time with NCRP Beth moved on to work for a number of Washington based social justice organizations, most recently at the Project on Government Oversight (POGO).

Beth’s work was marked by intelligence, commitment and passion. She had a fierce and abiding commitment to justice and fair play, and was a strong and loyal friend. Beth brought a sense of joy and amusement to the challenges and absurdities of working for social justice in Washington, D.C. Those that shared time with her in work and in play can testify both to her sense of humor and sharp wit, and her love for friends and family.

Beth Daley loved to laugh, loved a good fight, loved her friends, and most importantly loved her family. She was a good person and will be sorely missed.

Kevin Ronnie is former director of field operations (1990 – 2005) of the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy (NCRP).
